EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

■ Apply the 2026 ADA Standards of Care guideline recommendations to identify primary care patients with T2D who are candidates for GLP-1 RA therapy, including those with established ASCVD, CKD, or multiple cardiovascular risk factors
■ Interpret the cardiovascular outcomes trial evidence with GLP-1 RA therapy and translate key fi ndings into clinical decisions for primary care patients
with T2D
■ Initiate oral or injectable GLP-1 RA therapy in appropriate primary care patients with T2D, including patients who are injection-averse, using correct dosing, titration, and administration guidance
■ Counsel primary care patients with T2D on the benefi ts, tolerability, administration requirements, and class safety profi le of GLP-1 RA therapy to support shared decision-making and long-term adherence
